Marvin was born and raised in Seymour. He worked for Cooper Motor Company as an Auto Mechanic until August of 1979 when he moved to Riverside, CA., with his wife, Patty and children, Scott and Shirley. He has returned home to Seymour 2-3 times each year up through 2018. He was often voted as the person to travel the furthest for the annual Old Settlers Reunion. Last year he was too ill to make the trip home, so the Elliott crew packed up and took the Family reunion to California to see Marvin and his family. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Edmon and Mae Elliott; sisters, Neva Joe Elliott, Emma Dean Young and a brother, Loyd Wayne Elliott.
He is survived by a brother, Roy Lee Elliott; a sister, Gerry Nell Elliott Gamboa; his son, Scott Elliott; his daughter, Shirley Atencio; a grandson, Scott Elliott, Jr.; granddaughters, Amanda, Brittaney, Melisa, Kyre, Gabrielle, Tessa and Reagan; great granddaughters, Gemma, Sadie and Nora and great grandsons, Eli, Jaxx, Camden and William.
