Berma Joyce Cox

Berma Joyce Cox, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the age of 90. Berma was born in Seymour, Texas, on the 14th day of September, 1935, to parents Orville Clement Roden and Hazel Mae Roden. Berma is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Bryan Cox, and her precious niece, Leza Carol Robertson. Berma's family was her heart, and she was happiest when they spent time together. If you knew Berma, then you knew that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great pleasure and many years of enjoyment. She passed on many life lessons to her family, and her memory will live on in the lives of her children: Lezlie Hoover and son-in-law Steve of Palestine, and son Bradley Cox of Seymour. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Britni Summerville and husband John of Palestine, Heather Robertson and husband Jesse of Iowa Park, Macy Wilkes of Wild Peach, Carly Cox of Seymour, and Emily Hoover of Lake Jackson; eleven precious great-grandchildren; sisters Janette Crownover and Patsy Perkins and husband Ralph; and several special nieces, nephews, and their spouses. A service to honor Mrs. Cox will be conducted at 10:00 o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 10th day of April, at First Methodist Church in Seymour, with Reverend Jay Gage officiating, assisted by Reverend Darrell Patterson. Burial will follow in the Henson Cemetery in Red Springs, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Bradley Cox, Steve Hoover, Macy Wilkes, Heather Robertson, and Jesse Robertson. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Choir, P.O. Box 846, Seymour, TX, 76380.
