Bernard Theodore Kuehler

Bernard Theodore Kuehler, resident of Seymour, Texas, was called home by his Heavenly Father on May 29, 2025 at the age of 99. He was born April 7, 1926 in Rhineland, Texas to Anton Matthew and Caroline (Wilde) Kuehler.

He joined the Army Air Corp at the age of 17 and proudly served his country during WWII. When he returned home after the war, he married Irene (Eidson) Kuehler on November 17, 1948, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Rhineland, Texas and they were happily married for 76 years.

They began farming in Rhineland and moved to Morton, Texas in December 1954 where they continued their farming career. He was a great husband and father to his wife and eight children and was also loved by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ben and Irene raised their children on the farm where their lives were filled with faith, family, fun and lots of hard work. He served many years on the Morton ISD school board and the Enochs Co-op Gin board of directors. They retired from farming in January 2004 and relocated to Seymour, Texas. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his wife Irene Kuehler, father, Anton Matthew Kuehler, mother, Caroline (Wilde) Kuehler, brothers: Louis Kuehler, Rein Kuehler and Larry Kuehler; sisters: Agnes Decker, Cecilia Sokora, Emma Duesterhaus, Gertrude Homer, Matilda Pribyla, Eleanora Franklin, Mary Ann Kuehler and Dorothy Myers and grandson, Willis Neal Kuehler.

He is survived by son Rory Kuehler of Morton, Texas; daughter Cindy Kuehler of Grapevine, Texas; son Kevin Kuehler and wife Raynell of Frisco, Texas; son Randy Kuehler and wife Lauri of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter Diana Coffman and husband Rex of Bedford, Texas; son Kelly Kuehler and wife Mary Beth of Cross Roads, Texas; son Ronald Kuehler and wife April of Lubbock, Texas; and son Donald Kuehler and wife Natalie of Colleyville, Texas and brother Alfred Kuehler of Rhineland, Texas. He had 14 grandchildren, Greg Thorn and wife Miranda, Michael Kuehler and wife Jill, Megan Kuehler, Kaylan Smith and husband Warren, Alina Jimenez and husband Daniel, Christopher Kuehler, Kyler Kuehler, Whitney Minatra and husband Landon, Anthony Kuehler and wife Alexandria, Jeremy Kuehler, Sydney Kuehler, Brock Kuehler and Bree Kuehler and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 11 at the Archer Funeral Home in Seymour, Texas from 5:30 – 7:00 PM. Rosary will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour at 7:30 PM.

The funeral will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rhineland on Thursday, June 12th at 10:00 AM with graveside services to follow under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

The family suggests memorials be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 206 N. Cedar St., Seymour, Texas 76380.
