Charles Murry Machen, 67 of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in Wichita Falls.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Henson Cemetery in Red Springs, Texas under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Charles was born March 12, 1958 in Lubbock, Texas to Charles Lee and Ovella Jones Machen. Charles, AKA Charlie to his friends, was a musician and a welder. He enjoyed getting together with other musician friends and having a “jam session”. He played lead and bass guitar. He was also an artist and enjoyed drawing. Charles was a welder by trade and went into business with his dad, Charles Machen with Charles Machen and Son Welding, building metal buildings. He was also employed by Brown and Root in Glenwood, Texas at one time.

Charles will be remembered for his quick with, dry sense of humor, sparkling blue eyes and crooked smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ovella Machen of Red Springs; 3 brothers, Mickey Maxwell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ted Machen of Lake Whitney, Texas and Robert Machen of Red Springs, Texas and his oldest son, Chad Lee Machen of Red Springs, Texas.

Charles is survived by his youngest son, Cody Dee Machen of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and grandson, Maxwell Machen of Grand Junction, Colorado; his daughter, Crystal Latham of Seymour and granddaughter, Landree Latham of Seymour; a nephew, Christopher Machen of Seymour and a great nephew, Mickey Machen of Seymour.
