Chris Hons

Chris Hons, 59, of Seymour passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Seymour.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Keith Hatthaway and Deacon Jim Novak officiating. Burial will be in the SPJST Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Chris was born to Sue and Eugene Hons on March 11, 1959 in Seymour, Texas. He attended Seymour ISD schools and graduated from Seymour High School. Chris was known for working at the Dairy Mart with his family and ended his working career as a salesman for Standard Coffee Company. He married Sherry Kuehler on February 24, 2979 in Rhineland. Chris was very active in the community, serving on the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, Baylor County Junior Livestock Show Committee, Chamber of Commerce, and coaching Seymour Little League teams. He enjoyed golfing and bass fishing, and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hons of Seymour; 2 sons, Brian Hons and wife, Meagan of Wichita Falls and Eric Hons and wife, Kelly of Katy; a daughter, Kristin Hons of Seymour; 5 grandchildren, Madi, Levi, Lily, Caleb and Ty; and 2 brothers, Rodney Hons and wife, Patricia and Leslie Hons and wife, Nita all of Seymour.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a Wake service.

The family suggests memorials to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.
