Delores Mae Crawford Killian, 82 of Wichita Falls, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Wichita Falls.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Sonny Smart officiating under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Delores was born March 9, 1938 in Seymour where she would live most of her life and raise her three sons. She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney, her parents Tom and Lennie Crawford, her brothers Sonny, Billy Wayne, and Donald Crawford, and her husband, Charles Killian. Her last few years, she was a resident at Advanced Rehab and Healthcare of Wichita Falls where she had many friends.
Delores leaves behind her son Rickey and wife Dawn, her son Charles “Chuck” and wife Kim, and grandchildren Cody, Caleb, Kali, Chris, Lacey, and Trent, and her great grandchildren Charli, Cy, Lexi, Kylie and Clay. She is also survived by sister-in-law Tommie Crawford and a host of nieces and nephews.
Albert Einstein said, “Our death is not an end if we can live on in the lives of our children and the younger generation. For they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life.”
If Delores had one thing that defined her life, it was this thought. She lived for her family and now will live on through them. On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, that wilted leaf bloomed again in heaven.
Delores had a pure heart with a soft spot (or the gift of mercy) for the underdog. She would literally give her last dime to help anyone in need. Her empathy and compassion for others were one of her most distinguishing character traits. She judged no one; offered friendship to all.
She will be remembered for an infectious laugh, a humble spirit, and an unsurpassed love for her children and grandchildren. She loved and revered her extended family and cherished their memories. She was a poet, gifted with the ability to express the essence of a person or relationship in her writing. She was a good listener and she cared; she really cared for anyone who crossed her path.
Greater Love
When my God calls me, to dwell with him on high
When he calls let me be ready, to bid this old world good-bye
I’ll keep the faith and stay prepared; I’ll live each day as my last
Since Jesus paid for my sins on Calvary’s cross, I’m forgiven my past
That precious blood he shed for us, to redeem us of our sin
Believe, repent, with child like faith, you can be born again.
That’s how great is his Love!
Delores Killian
For those who remember her today as Mama, MeMe, Aunt, or Friend, be comforted in the knowledge that grief only exists where love lived first. Our joys are greater, our love is deeper, and our lives are fuller because Delores is a part of us.
