Dianne Hons Cockrell

Dianne Cockrell, 71 of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 in Seymour.

A Celebration will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 10:30 a.m., at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Gage and Rev. Darrell Patterson officiating under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Dianne was born December 2, 1954 in Seymour to Rudolph and Beatrice Novak Hons and was a 1973 graduate of Seymour High School where she was a cheerleader all four years. She attended Midwestern State University and LVN School. She worked as a clinic nurse for physician’s offices and later in the Munday Nursing Home. Dianne married Wayne Cockrell on August 2, 1974 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour. She was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker and was always heavily involved with her children’s activities while they were growing up. She was the booster and concession stand queen at times and a devoted animal lover of cats and dogs. Dianne was a member of the Seymour First Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Beatrice Hons and a brother, Donald Hons.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Cockrell; her son, Clint and Gayla Cockrell; her daughter, Sadie and Philip Estes and 4 grandchildren, Carter DeMoville, Chloe DeMoville, Hudson Cockrell and Miles Cockrell.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
