Effie Leona “Toni” Lovelace passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in Seymour, at the age of 87.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Seymour, under direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Toni was born on March 18, 1939 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Tom E. and Ruby Virginia Marsh Estes. She attended school in Lubbock from the 1st through the 12th grade. Lubbock High her freshman year and Monterey High her Junior and Senior year. She married Jimmy Joe Lovelace at the Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock on January 6, 1957. The couple celebrated 55 years of marriage before he passed away. A happy memory of her husband was that from time to time he would bring her a single rose and smile from ear to ear as he gave it to her. Toni was a homemaker and mother and loved every minute of it. In later years, she enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren. Toni loved to travel, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Agape bus tours were her favorite. She loved to read and scrapbook for her great grandchildren. She was a member of the Seymour Church of Christ. She was a member of the Seymour Church of Christ.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, John H. Estes; 2 sisters, Ruby Branum and Lavita King; a daughter, Debbie Lovelace and a grandson, Stephen Fernon.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Gonzalez of San Antonio; a son, Jimmy Joe and Lorena Lovelace, Jr. of Tucson, AZ; 7 grandchildren, Dustin Block, Sara Hill, Jimmy Joe Lovelace, III, Emily Lovelace, Elizabeth Lovelace, Jessica Montgomery and Miryea Gonzalez-Dozier and 5 great grandchildren, Kayman Cash Block, Bella Rene Block, Benjamin Darrow Hill and Jacob Daniel Hill.
