Eric Hitt, born April 29, 1963, to Billy and Jo Ann Hitt, passed away on April 25 at 1:25 p.m., surrounded by the people who loved him most. His wife Lisa, his mother Jo Ann, his sister Valerie, and a close family friend, Sandee Anzalone, were by his side as he left this world, holding him with the same love and devotion he had always shown them.
A Celebration of Eric’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Red Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Roberts officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Eric grew up in a close and loving family, spending his summers in Red Springs with his grandparents, Red and Annie Parker. Those summers shaped him—filled with stories, laughter, and the steady comfort of family traditions that stayed with him throughout his life.
On August 31, 2025, Eric married Lisa Marie Crowell, the love of his life. Their bond was deep and unwavering, and Lisa remained faithfully by his side through every moment, offering strength, devotion, and companionship until his passing.
Eric is survived by his wife Lisa, his stepson Andrew Matthies, his mother Jo Ann Hitt, his sister Valerie Hitt, his son William Hitt, and his former wife Kathleen Hitt of Albuquerque, NM. He also leaves behind his Uncle Gene Parker, Aunt Imogene Parker, and many cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father Billy Hitt; his grandparents Roscoe and Florence Hitt; his aunt Winnell Hitt; his grandparents Red and Annie Parker; and his infant brother Jason Layne Hitt. Eric carried their memory with him always, and he is now reunited with them in peace.
Eric’s life was marked by loyalty, humor, and a deep love for the people around him. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his generous heart, and the way he made others feel valued and understood. His legacy lives on in the family he loved and the countless lives he touched.
