Freddie Jay Elliott

Freddie Jay Elliott, 75 of Goree, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 in Seymour.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Goree Cemetery with Joe Shahan officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour.

Freddie was born on May 18, 1951 in Decatur to J.C. and Dixie Hammock Elliott. He was a 1969 graduate of Goree High School and attended Abilene Christian College. He married Terri Beaver on November 30, 1970 in Seymour. Freddie worked for GTE for 35 years, retiring in 2006. After retirement, he and Terri moved to his family farm in Goree and he started farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Dixie Elliott.

He is survived by his wife, Terri Elliott of Goree; 2 sons, Jay and Sherri Elliott of Olney and Justin and Jennifer Elliott of Seymour; a brother, Mike and Reta Elliott of Clyde; a sister Judy Barnes of Mesquite; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
