Greg Blackburn, 60, of Andrews, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Greg was diagnosed with brain cancer on November 27, 2014 with an inoperable brain tumor. He spent several months in Houston for treatment, then came home and decided to go to Henderson, Nevada to be with his daughters and families.
Greg was born in Snyder, Texas on November 26, 1954 to J.B. and Darlene McGregor Blackburn. Greg married Teresa Kraft on September 19, 1975.
Survivors include his loving wife, Teresa of Andrews; loving mother, Darlene Goodner of Seymour, Texas; sister, Pam Latham of Seymour, Texas; daughters, LaMonica Lucchesi and husband Shawn of Henderson, Nevada, Mandy Palmer of St. George, Utah and M'lissa Hurst of Friona, Texas. He has 7 amazing grandchildren, Kyla, Mason, Chance, Kolbi, McKenzie, Caitlin and Keegan.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Blackburn and a brother, Jeffery Blackburn.
Greg loved and cherished his wife and family. He loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing with his family and friends. Greg also enjoyed traveling and supporting his grandkids who compete in many sports and rodeos.
Greg was very fortunate to be employed by Fina Oil & Chemical/Energy Resources for 37 years as an oilfield pumper. He enjoyed going to work and created many longtime friendships with his co-workers.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverview Cemetery with Benny Archer, officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. , Tuesday , at the funeral home.
