Henry (Rick) Garcia, 59, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Seymour.
Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. , at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Albert Kanjirathumkal and Deacon Jim Novak, officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.
Rick was born December 9, 1955 in Rotan, Texas to Gabriel and Frances Cortez Garcia. He attended Throckmorton Schools. He married Mary Dell Ramirez on June 22, 1974 in Seymour. He worked as a janitor for the Throckmorton Schools and in the mobile home business in Breckenridge and later in Memphis. He worked in a gin and as a farmer until he and his wife moved to Seymour in 1980. Rick worked for the City of Seymour for 35 years, beginning in the street department for a couple of years and moved to the water/sewer department. In 1999 he went to the Reverse Osmosis Plant, where he was the Water Superintendent and sole operator until his death. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Garcia of Seymour; 2 sons, Nick Garcia and wife, Felicia of Seymour and Kenny Garcia and wife, Alisha of Vernon; his parents, Frances Cortez of Seymour and Gabriel Garcia and wife, Ramona of Estelline; 2 sisters, Roseann Kestell of Vancouver, Washington and Lupe Garcia of Wichita Falls; 1 brother, Felix Garcia of Carrizozo, N.M.; and 5 grandchildren, Alanna, Marissa, Lorena, Avery and Tristan.
Wake service will be at 6:00 p.m. , Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
