The family of Jack Caldwell Knox, Jr. shares the news of his passing from this life as we know it, on December 12, 2025. Born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on May 21, 1943, Jack’s earliest years and current story are deeply rooted in Seymour, Texas through paternal familial connections. Much of his childhood was spent adventuring the west Texas landscape among family and friends which deeply ingrained his love and respect for nature and outdoor activities that would last a lifetime. It was through this passion that he would thrive as he both shared and imparted wisdom from this valued part if his life with those he cared most about.
Jack dedicated over forty years to his management career in the airline industry both domestically and internationally. However, it was the sixty years as a devoted husband and father that most defined his character and showcased what truly mattered to him. Extremely respected in all circles of his life, Jack never had to say too much and his actions always spoke the loudest. His thoughtful words, subtle humor, focus, love of learning, and strength of character never wavered. Jack had an admirable way of seeming at ease and adaptable in nearly every social environment, yet whenever life did not demand it, he always returned to the quiet solitude of outdoor life with his closest family members and it was here that anyone could see he was most happy and at his best.
Upon retirement, Jack, along with his wife, Jane, returned to his earliest roots as they built their retirement home on the family farm in Seymour, Texas. Together, they fulfilled many dreams, including curating a home filled with warmth and collected treasures, bountiful gardens, outdoor adventure, family gatherings and community involvement. All of this, evidence of a man who placed value on things that cultivated joy, goodness, and a life of meaning, not only for himself, but everyone around him.
Together, as a family, we honor the life of Jack Caldwell Knox, Jr. who embodied the utmost qualities of admiration, including wisdom, loyalty, faith, honesty, a passion for the outdoors, a love of music, humor and compassion. Jack’s memory will forever be carried on through his surviving family, which includes his loving wife, three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. May we all be so fortunate to be so deeply loved, respected and greatly missed as we pass from one life to the next and await the joining of our souls once again.
