James David Standlee, 59 of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in Seymour.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour under the direction of Archer Funeral Home in Seymour.

James was born February 26, 1959 in Seymour to Royce and Erma Walker Standlee He was a 1977 graduate of Seymour High School. James owned and operated The Feed and Seed Barn in Seymour, providing household and bedding plants as well as designing and installing flower beds and water features. James was instrumental in founding and organizing the Wild Pig Pedal, a bike ride held annually in Seymour. He married June Gillig Standlee who preceded him in death on July 18, 2015.

He is survived by his parents, Royce and Erma Standlee of Seymour; a sister, Debbie K. Standlee of Vernon; his children, James Wynne and wife Melissa of Phoenix, AZ and Kim Wynne of Tucson, Az; 3 grandchildren, Jade Wynne, Isabella Wynne and Addison Wynne; his special friend and companion, Melody Hrncirik; 2 nephews, Chris Armstrong and wife, Emilia and Clint Armstrong; and his great nieces and nephews, Victoria, Jack, Audrey and Ben.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the James Standlee Beautification Fund for the City of Seymour or the Chamber of Commerce Wild Pig Pedal, both c/o/ City of Seymour, 301 N. Washington, Seymour, Texas 76380.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
