James Mack Webb

James Mack Webb, 67, passed away on July 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and cherished memories. He was the son of Mack Charles Webb and Lois Nell Webb, and lived a life marked by kindness, unwavering family pride, and a smile that brightened every room.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Seymour with Larry Webb and Brian Thomas officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

James was immensely proud of his Webb heritage and carried the Webb name with great honor throughout his life. Family meant everything to him. Some of his happiest memories were made during family camping trips to Red River, New Mexico, vacations at Lake Brownwood filled with boating and laughter, and spending time with his many cousins at his grandparents’ farm. Those moments shaped his deep appreciation for family, togetherness, and lasting traditions.

As a young boy, James enjoyed participating in Boy Scouts alongside his dad, creating memories that stayed close to his heart throughout his life.

James attended Abilene Christian High School, where he proudly played football for the Panthers in 1973, an accomplishment he often spoke of with great pride. He later attended Bryan High School. His love for football never faded, and he remained a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Abilene Christian University athletics.

He loved coffee—especially “coffee, coffee, and more coffee”—and found joy in singing gospel songs. James had an infectious smile that could brighten anyone’s day. No matter what life brought his way, if someone asked how he was doing, his answer was almost always, “Fine.” His positive spirit, gentle heart, and warm presence will be remembered by everyone who knew him.

James is survived by his loving siblings:

James is also survived by many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
