Janet B Awalt

Janet Boone Awalt, 59 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Seymour.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 11:00am at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Janet was born April 15, 1958 in Seymour to Roy and Yvonne Carrier Boone. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and received her degree in nursing from Vernon Regional Junior College. She worked as a registered nurse at several nursing homes, as Director of Nursing at the Seymour Nursing Home and as the Medical Director at the prison in Haskell. Janet married David Awalt on August 28, 2003 in Albany. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour.

She is survived by her husband, David Awalt of Seymour; 2 sons, Johnny Gann and wife, Tamara of Seymour and Thomas Harris and wife, Jamie of Idalou; 3 brothers, Sam Boone and Chris Boone both of Seymour and Pat Boone of Tennessee; 2 sisters, Nancy Boone and Cindy Hostas both of Seymour; and 3 grandchildren, Dalton Gann, Collin Gann and Molli Harris.

Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
