Janie Loo McKinley Shumate Kisinger Glenn went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 31, 2016.
Services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at the Red Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Cody Craig officiating. Burial will be in the Henson Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Janie was born on August 8, 1931 in Seymour to William Irvin and Juanita (Nita) Russell Shumate. On July 15, 1950, she married John Kisinger in San Francisco. They were married for 53 years. John passed away in December of 2003. Janie married R.A. Glenn on May 18, 2004 and spent 10 very happy years with him until he preceded her in death on May 6, 2014.
Janie worked for the Baylor County Tax Assessors office until May of 1969. At that time, she began 25 years of employment with the Farmers National Bank of Seymour. She retired in 1996. She was a member of the Red Springs Baptist Church for 53 years and served many of those years as their pianist.
She is survived by her children, William Boyd (Bill) Kisinger and wife, Barbara of Celina, Kathy Jon Martinez and husband, Art of Arlington and Carrie Tamm of Seymour; a sister, Wanda Hatter of Seymour; 8 grandchildren, Kimberly Jane Kisinger, Robin Melinda Clark and husband, Arden, Kristopher Lee Lemmons and wife, Tracey, Nicole Lafitte Schaffer and husband, Eric, John Brady Lemmons, Michael William Kisinger, Sterling Ray Martinez and wife, Alex and Mikel Kylie Tamm; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Red Springs Baptist Church Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, the Christian mission efforts of your choice, Henson Cemetery Association, Seymour Hospital Auxiliary or Baylor County Friends of the Library.
