Jerry Francis Rux

Jerry Francis Blankenship Rux, 79 of Seymour, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026 in Wichita Falls.

A private graveside service is planned for a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on November 27, 1946 in Seymour to Muriel and Clio Milligan Blankenship. She was a 1965 graduate of Seymour High School, attended Midwestern State University and graduated from the Wichita General Hospital School of Nursing with and RN degree in 1968. She enjoyed many years of nursing in hospitals and home health care. Jerry married Dr. Jack Rux, Sr. on August 16, 1991. The couple shared 20 years together working in his veterinary practice in Olney. Jerry moved back to Seymour, following her husband’s death in 2011, to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of her favorite things to do were to feed and play games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Seymour.

Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Rux; her parents, Muriel and Clio Blankenship; a brother, William Blankenship; a sister, Betty Blankenship and her granddaughter, Julie Marie Simek.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Carrie Jackson and Jesse Otremba of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Cathy and Jimmy Simek of Seymour; step-daughters, Meredith Sanders and Cayleigh and Cody Anthony; step-grandchildren, Hunter, Hadleigh, Hayden, Marleigh and Sarah; a sister, Ann Blankenship of Seymour; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Simek, Jessica and Michael Lane and Jordan Simek; 3 great grandchildren, Joseph, Robert and David and a step-great grandchild, Lucy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1001 8th Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76104.
