Joe Michael Brasher

Joe Michael “Mike” Brasher, 76 of Seymour, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 in Seymour.

Services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Royce Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Mike was born on March 7, 1948 in Seymour to Commie Eugene and Minnie Estelle Boggs Brasher.  He married Vicky Jones on December 9, 1965 in Archer City.  Mike owned a convenience store for several years, then started farming.  Following the death of his son, went back to running the convenience store.  Mike loved to garden.  He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Brasher; a daughter, Teresa Sturgeon; his parents, Commie and Minnie Brasher and 2 brothers, Clayton Brasher and Thurman Brasher.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky Brasher; 4 grandsons, Laramey and Heather Sturgeon, Jeremy Sturgeon, Josh and Caitlin Brasher and Ray Pope; 7 great grandchildren, Faith Sturgeon, Warren Sturgeon, Liam Sturgeon, Easton Sturgeon, Brynlee Brasher, Preston Brasher and Paisley Brasher and 2 step-great grandchildren, Shayli Harrison and Noah Stinson.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
