Joshua Robert Lane, 31, passed away Thursday September 7, 2017 in Ft. Benning, Georgia.
Services will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Seymour, Texas with Chaplain Rob Cook, officiating. Burial will follow in Brushy Cemetery with full military honors provided by Ft. Hood Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home in Seymour. Josh was born August 29, 1986 in Sherman, Texas to Stephen and Lisa Hicks Lane. He was a 2004 graduate of Seymour High School. He married Tabatha Hudson on February 22, 2008 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Josh enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2008. He went through boot camp at Ft. Sill and attended AIT in San Antonio. He was then stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McCord for 4 years before being sent to Korea for 2 years. He and his family were then stationed at Ft. Benning in Georgia. Josh served 1 tour in Afghanistan.
Survivors include his wife, Tabatha Lane of Seymour; a son, Blake Lane of Seymour; a daughter, Colby Lane of Seymour; his parents, Stephen Lane of Seymour and Lisa Lane Roitenberg and husband Howard of New Braunfels; 2 brothers, Phillip Lane of San Antonio and Christopher Lane of New Braunfels; a sister, Amanda Lane Brock of Seguin; and his grandparents, Glendon and Sandra Hicks of Seymour.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
