Leon F Hagle

Leon Farris Hagle, 78, of Throckmorton, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, in Abilene.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at the Throckmorton Church of Christ with Silas Short, officiating. Burial will be in the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Leon was born August 28, 1937 in Matador to G.F. (Sangie) and Mary Foy Smith Hagle. He married Darlene Gail Edwards on January 3, 1959 in Seminole. Leon was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He moved his family to Throckmorton in 1972, where he was a member of the Church of Christ. Leon was a wonderful Christian example for everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sangie and Foy Hagle; a brother, Melva Dean (Plut) Hagle and his youngest daughter, Janie Beth Hagle.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene Hagle of Throckmorton; 3 daughters, Linda Claudine Hagle of Slaton, Sherry Starlene (Hagle) Livingston and husband, Gary of Megargel and Mary Jenell Hagle of Aspermont; 1 brother, Donald Ray (Duck) Hagle of Marietta, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Linda Irene (Hagle) Martin of Thackerville, Oklahoma; 2 granddaughters who were the lights of his world, Emily Guy and Ari L Livingston, both of Megargel; a step-grandson, Sammy Joe Livingston of Florida; a favorite cousin, Martha Rose Grant of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday at Smith Family Funeral Home in Throckmorton.

The family suggests memorials to the Janie Beth Hagle Memorial Scholarship, 210 College, Throckmorton, Texas 76483, Hendricks Hospice or a charity of your choice.
