Mac D Stout

October 3, 1925 — May 18, 2018

Sunday morning, May 13th Mac D. Stout, a lifelong resident of the Seymour and Throckmorton area, passed quietly in his sleep to the eternal beyond.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Mac, known to many as "Tootie", spent his entire life trying to help others. His tours in the Army Air Corps, US Air Force and Active Reserves, Texas Highway Patrol, Texas Rangers and the El Paso Sheriff's Department, embody a lifetime of selfless service. -MAC STOUT STOOD THE WATCH- He was ever faithful to his family, country, faith and his friends. He was to all that knew him "one hell of a man". He married the love of his life, Doris Lucille Mikeska on August 20, 1948 in Seymour. She preceded him in death on August 27, 2010.

There is a line from a 1918 song by Eddie Green, "good men are hard to find". Hard to believe he was writing about a man not even born yet, but he was. Vaya con Dios Amigo!

He is survived by his daughter, Susan May and husband, Donald of Silver City, NM; a grandson, Christopher May and wife, Susan; a granddaughter, Casey Maxfield and husband, John; and 2 great grandchildren, Andrew and Coby.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a church or charity of your choice.
