Marilyn Elizabeth Thurmond of Seymour Tx. passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, in Seymour Tx.

There will be a visitation Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Archer Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 10:00am in the Masonic Cemetery with Father Bose Jujuvarapu officiating under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour Tx.

Marilyn was born on June 19, 1942, in Seymour Tx. to Emil Motl and Albina Hrncirik Motl. She was a graduate of Seymour High School. Marilyn married Dick Thurmond on September 20, 1969. She worked at the Baylor County Tax Office and the Baylor County Appraisal District for many years where she enjoyed visiting with her co-workers and the residents of Baylor County who would visit the office. Marilyn was a member of the Catholic Church. Marilyn and Dickie very much enjoyed traveling all over the United States with their family and very close friends Norman and Gayle Odell, and Derrel and Jean Rupe. Gammie very much loved her family especially her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, her face would light up every time she saw them.

She is survived by her son Danny Blackard and wife Carolyn, her daughter Laurie Vickers and husband Scotty. Grandchildren Carley Ellis and husband Colter, Coby Blackard and wife Summer, Jacee Blackard, Jerica Birkenfeld and husband Jonathan, and Braeleigh Vickers. Great Grandchildren Madi Blackard, Paisley Blackard and Dixie Ellis along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
