Mary Lou Albright, 87 of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Seymour.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Red Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Katie Long and Rev. Cody Craig officiating. Burial will be in the Henson Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Mary Lou was born October 15, 1931 in Red Springs to George and Reita Brookshier Robason. She was a graduate of Seymour High School. She married Oliver Albright on May 30, 1948 in Red Springs and the couple settled down in Vera, where she raised her 2 sons in a house without indoor plumbing. The family moved back to Red Springs in 1960 when Mary Lou went to work for B-K Electric. She retired in 1994 after 31 years of service.
Mary Lou was a lifelong member of the Red Springs Baptist Church. She was active in the choir and a longtime member of the women's duo with Peggy Morris. She was also a member of the quartet with Peggy Morris, Red West and Loyd Robertson. She never turned down a chance to sing because she love it so much, and she said it was the only talent she had to give to God. Mary Lou and Oliver moved to Seymour in 1991, but continued to attend church at Red Springs until her health prevented attendance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Albright on November 11, 2009; a son, Bruce Albright; grandson, Eric Albright; graddaughter, Melanie Albright and a sister, Peggy Robason Albright.
She is survived by her son, Brent Albright and wife, Cindy; a granddaughter, Stephanie Albright and 6 great grandchildren who affectionately called her "Mama Lou", Engrique, Gabriel, Luke, Peyton, Allison and Tyler.
