Mary Jane Dormier, 92, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 in Midlothian.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Derrell Patterson officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Jane was born on August 1, 1934 in Quanah, Texas to Raymond and Nancy Nelson. She was raised and attended school in Quanah along with her brothers, William, Sydney and Bobby and her sister, Juanita. She met the love of her life, Richard Odell Dormier at the Dinner Bell Café Diner in Quanah, where she worked. They were married in Quanah on August 28, 1952. The couple later moved to Seymour where they raised their family and worked for over 60 years. Jane moved to Assisted Living in Buffalo Creek, Waxahachie, Texas in 2018.
Jane was a housewife and an active member of the Plainview Home Demonstration Club in Baylor County. She went to work for the Russell Newman Factory when it opened and stayed until they closed. Jane then went to work as a cashier at M-Systems grocery store until retirement. She was a faithful member of the Seymour Trinity Lutheran Church and dedicated many hours to its services and outreach. Her hobbies centered around taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, Richard, granddaughters, Lindsey Snyder and Jordan Snyder and daughter-in-law, Julia Dormier.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Allen and Cindy Dormier of Ovilla, David Lynn Dormier of Groveton and Christopher (Chris) Paul and Christine Dormier of Austin; her daughter, Karen Jane and Trey Rider of Belton; 5 grandchildren, Jenny Jo and Joel Grizzelle of North Richland Hills, Jared Dormier of Ovilla, Joseph and Brentleigh Snyder of Watauga, Jacob Dormier of Beaumont and Dylan Dormier of Austin and 2 great grandchildren, Liam Grizzelle and Luke Grizzelle, both of North Richland Hills.
The family suggest memorials to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
