Matt Robinson, 63, of Holliday, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 in Archer County.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the Evangel Temple Church on Barnett Road in Wichita Falls, with Pastor Clint Sissom, officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Seymour, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.
Matt was born November 2, 1952 in Ft. Worth. He was the son of Gene Porter and Martha Norman Robinson. He was a 1971 graduate of Seymour High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from McMurry University in Abilene. He married Vickie Gordon in 1973 in Seymour. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Porter Robinson on September 1, 2013. Matt coached for over 30 years, the bulk of which was spent with the Holliday Independent School District. After retiring from coaching, Matt enjoyed time spent running his cattle business and visiting with friends. Matt was a mentor, friend and role model to many young people through the years. His knowledge of football and his big heart made him a success on and off the field.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Robinson of Holliday; 2 sons, Matt Robinson and wife, Michelle of Belton and Luke Robinson of Nashville, TN; his mother, Martha Robinson of Seymour; and 2 grandchildren, Will Freedom Robinson and Delia Peace Robinson.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Archer Funeral Home in Seymour.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
