Melvyn Douglas Stevenson

Melvyn Stevenson, 84 of Abilene, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Abilene

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Melvyn was born May 29, 1938 in Stamford to Douglas and Mae Strand Stevenson.  He was a graduate of Stamford High School and attended Howard Payne Payne University.  Melvyn married Jeanette Jones on July 26, 1959 in Lubbock.  He worked for oil companies, as a farmer and the couple owned a Western Wear Store.  Melvyn was preceded in death by his son, Alan Keith Stevenson on January 1, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanette Stevenson of Abilene; a brother-in-law, Bobby Jones of Haskell and a sister-in-law, Linda Jones of Midland.
