Noel A. Neighbours passed away on February 15, 2019. He was born on December 22, 1938, in Seymour, TX.
His family would like you to know a bit about him because he was a remarkable individual.
Noel attended the University of North Texas. He was a proud US Army veteran who served in the Philippines and Thailand. After he separated from the service, he began a long career in finance. When he retired from finance, he became a salesman, to include cars and antiques. Even after his second retirement, he stayed active by finding unique items and buyers who wanted them.
He was a charismatic, intelligent, kind, caring, and friendly gentleman. He always greeted everyone with a wide smile that conveyed his keen wit and humor. His intelligence and charm were apparent in every interaction. He never met a stranger, and most of the people he met considered him their friend.
Though he was born in a small town, Noel traveled the world both with the US Army and as a civilian. Along with travels in the Pacific, he traveled across the USA and Mexico and Canada.
Noel is preceded in death by his father and mother, Willy B. Neighbours and Effie Peek. He is survived by his wife, Delilah Romero. He is also survived by his cousins.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his friends, Derek Williamson, Jeff Searcy, and Sherry Shuymate for treating Noel just like family. We’d also like to thank all those who have called or visited during this difficult time.
Memorial services will be held at First Christian Church at 401 N. East Street in Seymour on Wednesday, 20 February, at 2p.m. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
