Patsy Ruth (Thurman) Benge

Patsy Ruth Benge, 89 of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Seymour.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in the Riverview Cemetery with Benny Archer officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Patsy was born September 2, 1933 in Seymour to Asbury and Ruby McKinney Thurman.  She was a graduate of Seymour High School.  Patsy married Billy Benge in 1953 in Seymour.  She worked for GTE.  Once her son, Randy, was born, Patsy stayed home to tend to her family and to help her husband with the books for his service station.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Benge; her parents, Asbury and Ruby Thurman and a brother, Willis Thurman.

Survivors include 2 sons, Randy and Vickie Benge of Seymour and Shawn Benge and Gary Horne of Washington, DC; 2 grandchildren, Brandon Benge and Brittany Ames; 3 step-grandchildren, Jennifer Habert, Katie Roberts and Jeff Habert and 13 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s.
