Payton Tyce Copeland

Payton Tyce Copeland, 19, was born on December 16, 2006, in Seymour, Texas. He was tragically taken from us on September 5, 2026. He spent his early years growing up in Seymour before moving to Arlington, Texas, where he made his home for the last 6 years.

Payton is survived by his parents, Kayla Copeland and Devin Ledesma, Chad Copeland and Darian Snyder; his siblings, Camryn Stone, Lilyan Copeland, Rowen Copeland, Natalie Harvey, Brynlee Copeland, and Trey Wilson; his grandparents, Terry Carnahan, Dhara Patel, Richie and Mary Ledesma, Gena Copeland, Eddie and Angie Snyder; his aunts and uncles, Lynette and Corky Petty, Derrick Carnahan, Justin and Tiffany Carnahan, Ryan Ledesma, Kristi & Scotty Sanchez, Wade Copeland, Kaylene Vanbebber, and Emlyn Snyder; his cousins, Jace and Ava Smajstrla, Conrad and Kynzi Carnahan, Caden and Regan Vanbebber, Rylyn and Raidyn Drane and Mckynli Sanchez ; as well as many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply. Last but not least his very best friends, Toby, Rosie, & sometimes Panda.

Payton was truly one of a kind. He was smart, funny, energetic, adventurous, and unapologetically himself. His personality drew people in, and he had a natural way of making others laugh and feel comfortable. He could turn an ordinary moment into something everyone wanted to be part of. Payton was someone who formed genuine connections and valued the people who became part of his world.

Payton loved motorcycles, sports cars, & attending truck and car shows. He was a devoted PC gamer, he enjoyed playing sports as a child, & betting on them as an adult. (S/o Draft Kings). These things not only brought joy to his life, but opened the door to people around him, creating lasting friendships from all over the world. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. Whether that was going to Cowboys & Ranger games, concerts, road trips, random vacations, backyard BBQ’s sitting pool side, or sneaking away to the casino with his friends & family.

Payton was a very fast learner, incredibly smart, hard working, responsible, and dependable. He started working at Mr. Jims Pizza at the age of 15 and was quickly promoted to night shift manager for the past 4 years. He was so proud to recently start his career as the Quality Control Technician at Very Good Manufacturing in Ft. Worth, Texas where he was already making a name for himself within the first few weeks he was there.

Payton's greatest legacy is found in the people whose lives he became part of. He left behind more than photographs or stories; he left behind pieces of himself in the way he made people laugh, the friendships he built, and the time he shared with those he cared about. His life was far too short, but it was meaningful.

The impression he made cannot be measured by the number of years he had, but by how deeply he was loved and how greatly he will be missed.

Our hearts are broken that we have to say goodbye to Payton so soon. Still, we will be thankful for every second we had with him. We love you more than words could ever say, and we will carry you with us forever, until we meet again.

Our hearts are forever grateful for the unwavering support for our family in this time of need.

A Celebration of Payton’s life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cliff Styles Pavilion is Seymour, Texas with Rev. Russell Roberts officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home in Seymour.
