Randall Murry, 73, of Seymour passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Seymour.
Services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Ford officiating. A private burial will be held in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Randall was born November 9, 1943 in Shamrock, Texas to James and Marie Rutledge Murry. He was a graduate of Samnorwood High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from West Texas State University. Randall married Linda Morgan on February 3, 1967 in Canyon. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
His passion for coaching led him to Seymour. Randall and his family lived in several Texas communities, where he was a role model for all he made acquaintance with. After many years away, he and his wife moved back to Seymour to retire in 2010. He loved seeing old friends and his now mature students.
He loved to fish and spent many hours at Lake Kemp or Miller Creek. He enjoyed working on his boat and lawn mowers. He had a plentiful garden and gave his produce away to friends and neighbors. His children and grandchildren were his joy and he had the same expectations for them as he did his students.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Murry of Seymour; 2 daughters, Laura Meinzer and husband, Coby of Waco and Angela Murry of Dallas; a son, Duke Murry and wife, Joy of El Paso; and 4 grandchildren, Lindsey, Ty, Caden and Layne.
Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to ALS Association, www.alsa.org, or Muscular Distrophy Association, www.mda.org.
