Richard Bryan Cox passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the age of 90 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was born in Seymour on June 27th, 1934 to parents, Dale and Della Cox. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lavon Cox and Jerry Cox. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Berma Joyce Cox; daughter, Lezlie and son in-law Steve Hoover of Palestine; son, Bradley J Cox of Seymour; grandchildren, Britni and husband John Summerville of Palestine, Macy Wilkes of Wild Peach, Heather and husband Jesse Robertson of Iowa Park, Carly Cox of Wichita Falls and Emily Hoover and Fiancee Ross Townsend of Lake Jackson and eleven loving great grandchildren.
Richard was a member of the First Methodist Church in Seymour. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He retired as an engineer from General Telephone Company in 1994. He was a farmer for over 60 years and retired from farming in 2012.
Services for Mr. Cox will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Red Springs Baptist Church, with Reverand Jay Gage officiating, assisted by Reverand Derrell Patterson. Burial will follow the service in Henson Cemetery in Red Springs under the direction of Archer Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bradley Cox, Steve Hoover, Kainen Summerville, Macy (Hoover)Wilkes, Heather (Cox) Robertson and Jesse Robertson.
