Richard "Sleepy" Anthony Arnold

Richard Anthony “Sleepy” Arnold, 79 of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in Munday.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Texline Cemetery in Texline, Texas. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Richard or “Sleepy” was born on January 4, 1947 in Moody, Texas to Clay and Martha Mangum Arnold. He moved to Dallas in 1964 and married Dorothy Jean Prewitt on November 6, 1966 in Dallas. He worked as a truck driver and moved to Seymour in 2019 when he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Arnold on February 5, 2018 and a son, Michael Arnold on July 13, 2024.

He is survived by 2 sons, Richard “Ricky” Arnold and Toby and Jennifer Arnold, all of Seymour; daughter-in-law, Leslie Arnold of Seymour; 6 grandsons, Brandon Arnold, Nathan Arnold, Cody Mister, Thomas Arnold, Eli Arnold and Sam Fernandez; 4 granddaughters, Hayley Arnold, Addlyn Arnold, Morgan Arnold and Cortney Arnold and 4 great grandchildren with one on the way.

The family suggests memorials to the Munday Nursing Center.
