Ricki Russell, 76 of Devine, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026 in Devine.

A Celebration of Ricki’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Rochester, Texas with Tex Cox officiating. A private burial will be held in the Rochester Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Ricki Ray Russell was born on July 5, 1950 in Bakersfield, California to W.P. and Ruth Davenport Russell. He was a graduate of Rochester High School and attended Abilene Christian College. Ricki married the love of his life, Margaret Thompson on December 6, 1969 in Irving, Texas. He worked in law enforcement and day worked as a cowboy all his life. He was very proud of authoring a book called “Booger” about a cowboy and his dog. Ricki was a loving husband who took care of his wife until the day he died. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.P. and Ruth Russell; a brother and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Russell of Devine; 2 sons, Richard Russell and William Russell, both of Austin; a daughter, Chayah and Robert Fernandez of San Antonio; 3 sisters; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
