Colonel Sam Earl Hatton, U.S. Army Retired, 69, of Colleyville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2016 in Seymour.

The family and friends will gather on Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Colleyville, from 1:30 until 4:30 for a time of remembrance and fellowship. Inurnment ceremonies will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 1:30 at Ft. Sam Houston with full military honors under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Sam Earl Hatton was born October 6, 1946 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio to William Earl and Mary Jane Neal Hatton. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Master's Degree in Management from Webster University. Following his graduation from Trinity University, he joined the United States Army. In his over 30 years of service, Col. Hatton was stationed all over the globe and served in every armed conflict, beginning with 2 tours in Vietnam. Towards the end of his military career, he was working as a program manager and senior consultant at Lockheed Martin on the Joint Strike Fighter Program and was President of Sam Hatton and Associates, which provided program management and support for consulting assignments for major defense and commercial contractors. He was a true patriot, a steadfast friend, but most importantly, he was a loving father and Dampy to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Christine Miller and husband, Josh of Seymour and Tracy Hatton of Irving; 2 brothers, Bill Hatton of Dallas and Robert Neal Hatton of Mobile, Alabama; and 3 grandchildren, Theresa Marie, Zoe Gabrielle and Samuel Paul.
