Tommy Machen, 80 of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Wichita Falls.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Henson Cemetery in Red Springs under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Tommy was born on February 28, 1944 in Seymour to Glen and Kathleen Owen Machen. He was a 1962 graduate of Seymour High School. Tommy was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He received a Bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University in Denton. Tommy worked as a central office installer for Southwestern Bell in Dallas. He retired in 2000 and moved back to Seymour. Tommy was an avid golfer and was on a team that won the Byron Nelson Pro-Am in 1997. His community was his golfing buddies. Tommy loved family but his nephew Mark and his nieces, Pam and Krissi were his world. He was affectionately known as “Gut” (Great Uncle Tommy) to his great nieces and nephews. Tommy was as headstrong as he was big hearted and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his nephew, Mark Machen and wife Ann of Midland; 2 nieces, Pam Farrington and husband, Billy of Sachse and Krissi Oden-Berry and husband, Troy of Denton; 6 great nieces and nephews; 4 great great nieces and 1 great great nephew.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
