Al Buchanan

Al Buchanan, Jr., 70 of Lubbock, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Holders Chapel Cemetery in Cool, Texas with Debbie Hines officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Al was born August 19, 1950 in Lubbock to Percy and Clariece Lackey Buchanan.  He was a graduate of Lubbock High School and received and Bachelors Science degree from Texas Tech University where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. drill team.  Worked as a Finance Manager within the Gene Messer Auto Group in Lubbock.  He married Kathy Moline on March 4, 2000 in Lubbock.  He loved to play golf and was an avid Texas Tech fan.  Al was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Charles D. Hopkins.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Moline Hopkins Buchanan of Lubbock; a brother, Scott and Florita Buchanan of Lubbock; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Hopkins of Shallowater and a niece, Amanda Tuttle of Snyder.

Visitation will be 12:30 until 1:45 p.m., Thursday at Holders Chapel.
