Angela Eileen Eakins, 80 of Seymour, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 in Burkburnett surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rule Cemetery in Rule, Texas with Dillon Fox officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Angela was born January 7, 1943 in Aspermont to Aubrey and Inez Aycock Ball. She was 1961 graduate of Aspermont High School and class Valedictorian. She attended Hardin Simmons University before marrying the love of her life, Wayne Eakins on June 1, 1962 in Aspermont. The couple moved to Seymour shortly after their marriage and Angela stayed home until her youngest son started school. She worked as a teacher’s aide for the Seymour ISD. Angela was a supremely talented artist who always painted the Seymour cheerleaders’ megaphones and painted a mural in the nursery of the First Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Seymour.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Eakins of Seymour; 2 sons, David Wayne Eakins and Michael Lynn and Diane Eakins all of Wichita Falls; a granddaughter, Jennifer and Ricky Bigbee of Wichita Falls; a grandson, Brandon Eakins of Wichita Falls and 1 brother, Lonnie and Andrea Ball of Marble Falls.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Seymour, the Seymour Meals on Wheels or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
