Obituary
Bartolo Martinez, 89 of Seymour, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Seymour.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour, with Father Francis Chinthamalla and Deacon Jim Novak officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Bartolo was born August 24, 1933 in Caldwell, Texas to Victor and Josephina Garcia Matinez. He married Margaret Soliz on February 14, 1955 in Caldwell. The couple lived in Goree, moving to Seymour in 1983. He was a farmer. Bartolo was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Josephina Martinez; 3 sisters, Virginia Ramos, Placadia Martinez and Apolonia Benavides and a brother, Martin Martinez.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Martinez of Seymour; 5 daughters, Gloria Fernandez of Abilene, Juanita Walters of Sparta, Wisconsin, Josefina Downes of Denton, Mary Escamilla of Munday and Anna Matinez of Seymour; 4 sons, Carlos Matinez of Abilene, Pedro Martinez of Wichita Falls, Thomas Martinez of Del Rio and David Martinez of Myrtle Beach, SC; 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday at the church.
