Cathy was born on April 28, 1975 at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Patrick LeRoy Bloomfield and the late Olga Lynette (Wilson) Bloomfield.  Both of her parents were serving in the military at the time of her birth.  As a military dependent, Cathy grew up living in many different places and she especially had fond memories of living in Australia.

Cathy married C. Joseph Harrington on January 19, 2000 and together they had 6 wonderful children and shared 2 wonderful step-daughters and 4 young grandchildren.

Her quest for knowledge became apparent when she was just a young girl.  Cathy was a brilliant student, graduating as Valedictorian of her large class at Miami-Carroll City High School in Miami, FL.  She received a full scholarship to Brown University Medical School where she majored in Biophysics.  She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree, specializing in Family Practice in 2006 from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN.  While at Meharry, she earned many distinguished honors and awards to include the Outstanding Student Award in Medical Biochemistry.  She completed her Residency Program in Family Medicine at Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi in 2009 and also completed her Obstetrics Fellowship residency at Christus Spohn in 2010.  During her residency she earned the David J. Shannon Award for Enthusiasm and Devotion to Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Victor C. Calma, M.D. Memorial Award for the Outstanding First Year Family Practice Resident.  She received the degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2017.  In 2019, she received her certificate as a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.  She had a huge thirst for knowledge and earned her Executive Masters of Business Administration from the Quantic School of Business and Technology in 2021.  In 2022, she completed a Fellowship in Integrative Health & Medicine from the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine.  In 2023, she was confirmed as a Diplomate in Integrative Medicine from the American Board of Integrative Medicine.  She was a member of many professional organizations to include the Utah Academy of Family Physicians, Utah Division of ACOG, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Texas Academy of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Cathy was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Young Women’s First Counselor, Primary Teacher and a Relief Society President.  She loved music and enjoyed playing the flute, piccolo, violin, guitar, clarinet and piano.  She loved woodworking and furniture building, sewing, writing and gardening.  She loved raising birds and had a large flock of chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, quails and turkeys.  She also enjoyed raising bunnies and goats.

Dr. Harrington is survived by her husband, Joe of Seymour; daughters, Mikayla Harrington of Colorado Springs, CO, Samantha Harrington of Wichita Falls, Alexandra “Lexi” Harrington & Isabel Harrington of Seymour, Rachael Harrington of Winter Springs, FL and Sarah Harrington of Orlando, FL; sons, Johnathan & Abram Harrington of Seymour; her father and step-mother, Patrick and Bonnie (Lake) Bloomfield of Ramah, NM; father-in-law and mother-in-law, CJ and Wilma Harrington of Stephenville; siblings, Cecilie DeLaney of Grafton, WV, Bailey Rodfield of Tulsa, Ryan Bloomfield of Provo, UT, Eric Lake of Ramah, NM, Michael Whiting of Mesquite, NV and Anthony Whiting of Farmington, NM; and her grandchildren, Isabella and Phoenyx Harrington of Colorado Springs, CO, Winnie Riccio of Orlando, FL and Zachariah Frasier of Winter Springs, FL.  Cathy also leaves behind many others who loved her very much.
