Chad Lee Machen

Chad Lee Machen, 35, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 3:45 a.m. in Graham, Texas.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., on the Reed Farm in Gilliland with Benny Archer officiating.  A viewing and visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the Gilliland Baptist Church under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Chad was born on July 31, 1985 at the Seymour Hospital at 3:29 a.m.  He was raised in Red Springs by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Ovella Machen.  He attended Seymour Elementary and Jr. High School before moving to Copperas Cove, Texas.  He attended VRJC for welding and finished his certification while in Colorado.  Chad never met a stranger.  He would talk to anyone.  He was preceded in death by his friend/mentor/father, Rick Russell and his grandparents, Charles and Ovella Machen and Lawrence Reed.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Russell Machen of Red Springs; his mother, Lauren Dowless and husband, Garry of Seymour; 3 brothers, Cody Machen of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Mitch Dowless of Seymour and Preston Dowless of North Carolina; a sister, Crystal Latham of Seymour and his uncle, Toy Reed of Wichita Falls.
