Gerogia Cooksey Obituary

Georgia Cooksey, 88 of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Seymour.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Riverview Cemetery with Benny Archer officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Georgia was born April 14, 1932 in Round Timber to William and Esther Rowlett Graves. She married William Taylor Cooksey on May 5, 1947 in Goree. She was a homemaker and farmer. Georgia was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved to go fishing. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, William Taylor Cooksey on June 6, 1988; 2 brothers, Jay Graves and John D. Graves and 4 sisters, Ruth Trusty, Jessie Shumate, Ola Mae McWhorter and Glenna Gahagan.

Survivors include her son, Taylor Wayne Cooksey and wife, Terry of Seymour and her granddaughter, Crystal Cooksey of Garland.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
