Glenda (Coffman) Hertel

Glenda Hertel, age 87, of Seymour, Tx passed away July 15, 2021 at Hospice of Wichita Falls surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass will be held in Seymour, Tx at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Rhineland under the direction of Archer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17th at the funeral home, followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Glenda was born June 17, 1934 in Knox County to Elbridge and Linnie Bilbrey Coffman.  She graduated from Goree High School in 1952.  She married the love of her life William “Bill” Hertel on September 12, 1954 in Rhineland, Tx.  Glenda worked in the Knox County courthouse. She sang in the church choir and volunteered in other capacities at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour. She was known for her fabulous cooking and her love for her family. Glenda was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and Nanaw.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Hertel, parents Elbridge and Linnie Coffman, Sisters Trudy Trainham and Peggy Hosea, brother Bilbrey Coffman.

Survivors include; 2 sons, Mark Hertel of Seymour and Greg Hertel and wife Rhonda of Seymour; 4 grandchildren, Jessica and husband Tim Kelly of Shallowater, Tx, Meaghan and husband Tim Slama of Fairmont, MN, Damon Hertel of Seymour, and Adam and wife Leslie Hertel of Seymour and 11 Great Grandchildren; Dylan and Malia Kelly, Tyler, Allison and Makenzie Slama, Ean, Easton and Case Hertel, and Kryslyn, Brooklynn and Avery Hertel.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour, Tx and Hospice of Wichita Falls, Tx.
