Matthew Douglas Harper

Matthew Douglas Harper, 51, of Wichita Falls, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 in Wichita Falls.

The family will have a visitation on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Archer Funeral Home in Seymour.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Matt was born July 12, 1971 in National City, California to Ray and Edna Taylor Harper.  He was a 1990 graduate of Seymour High School.  Following graduation, Matt moved back to California where he worked as a welder and a mechanic for a racing team.  He returned to Texas in 1998 and worked as a truck driver.  Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Edna  and a step-grandson, Billy Chandler.

He is survived by 2 sons, Josh Harper and Jacob Harper both of Wichita Falls; 2 step-children, Cassidy Chandler of Seymour and Mark Dowden of Archer City; a granddaughter, A’zayleigh Hardeman; 5 step-grandchildren, Ethan, Addison, Victoria, Marlee and Brylee; his father, Ray Harper of Wichita Falls; a brother, Bruce Messimer of Megargel and 3 sisters, Brenda Littlepage of York, NE, Celeste Audis of Chino Valley, AZ and Karen Leal of Seymour.
