Obituary

Eva Philomae Feemster Roberson, 95, passed away July 9, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Benjamin Baptist Church. A long time family friend, Pastor Riley Carver, will be conducting the service. Another friend, Linda Griffith, will be the pianist. Philomae’s remains will be interned beside her husband, Bobby Roberson, at a private family gathering at later date.

Philomae was born on September 10, 1927 to Bill and Lona Trainham Feemster in Vera, Texas. She was raised in the Vera Baptist Church and was a child of God.  She married the love of her life, Bobby James Roberson, on December 15, 1944 before he left for the Merchant Marines. After Bobby returned home from the service, Philomae became a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She was active in the Home Demonstration Club and was a very good volleyball player on the Benjamin team.  The family moved to Benjamin in 1965. She worked two years in the Benjamin School lunch room, and then started her career in the abstract office located in the Knox County Courthouse. Philomae loved this job and worked there for forty five years before retiring when she was eighty five years old. She met countless people and loved to help everyone.

Philomae and Bobby had two daughters, Judy Gail Barnett and husband Randolph and Willie Kathie Waldron and husband Jack. She had four grandsons, Jeff and wife Brandi Conner, Jim Bob and wife Jennie Beth Conner, Tres Pierce and Justin Waldron. Also she had twelve great grandkids and four great-great grandkids.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Conner, Cayden Conner, Jim Bob Conner, Charlie Conner, Tres Pierce and Bryston Pierce. Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Pierce and Stetson Smith.
