Richie Poteet

Richie Poteet, 54 of Goree, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 in Knox County.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Goree Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.  Burial will be in the Goree Cemetery with Randal Kinnibrugh officiating under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Richard Dewayne “Richie” Poteet was born March 21, 1967 in Denton to Richard and Glenda Rushing Poteet and was a 1985 graduate of Seymour High School.  Following graduation, Richie worked in the oil field for a short time before going to work as a commercial roofer.  He moved back home in 2000 and went to work ranching and in 2010 went to work for Kinnibrugh Farms.  He married Linda Harding on June 23, 2013 at the Goree Baptist Church in Goree.  He was also a member of the Goree Baptist Church.  Richie was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Poteet Arnold, his father, Richard Poteet and his grandparents, Leonard and Mayme Rushing and Harley and Christine Poteet.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Poteet of Goree; a daughter, Lynel Holub of Iowa Park; a granddaughter, Olivia Holub; his sister, Lisa Torrez of Seymour; 2 aunts, Nancy Barnes of Seymour and Anita and Tommy Goode of Throckmorton; 2 uncles, Mike Poteet and Gene Poteet; step-father, Johnny Arnold of Seymour; a step-brother, Johnny Arnold, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; 2 nieces, Tarra Torrez and Taryn Torrez both of Seymour and 5 great nieces and nephews with one on the way.

The family suggests memorial to the Goree Baptist Church.
