Sandra Mae (Portwood) Estrada

Sandra (Sandy) Mae Portwood Estrada, 76 of Swearingen, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at her home with her husband and step-son by her side. 

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Round Timber Pavilion in Round Timber, Texas under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Sandy was born June 28, 1946 in Seymour to Sam and Frankie Allen Portwood and was a graduate of Seymour High School.  She married Jaime Estrada in 1986 and the couple lived happily on the Portwood Ranch.

Sandy was a rancher and cowgirl all her life.  Her dad taught her almost everything she knew and helped develop the love she had for horses.  She always had a special place in her heart for her livestock.

Sandy had two sons, Port and Marty Tim Culver and a stepson, Jamie (JJ) Estrada, Jr who she loved as her own, and a grandson, Matthew Culver.  She loved watching her children grow and develop and especially loved watching JJ play football and soccer.  If she couldn’t be at the games, she wanted to see pictures.  She had lots of cousins and loved them all.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Frankie Portwood; a son, Marty Tim Culver and her sister, Sammie Ann Morris. 

Sandy was and always will be a very special and wonderful woman.  She will be missed greatly by all who loved her. 

She is survived by her husband, Jaime Estrada; a son, Port Culver; a step-son, JJ Estrada; mother-in-law, Antonis; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bobby Morris, Javier, Ismael, Irma, Benjamin, Magdalena, Raquel, Reyna, Teresa and Emma; a grandson, Matthew Culver and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
